Does Apple actually want to be in the HDTV market?

Some argue that they may still be judging the barriers to entry into this market. If Apple wanted to create a TV, it would take them a week and some coffee. They have created the AppleTV, and they have a 27″ iMac. The AppleTV could easily be stripped down into any TV on the market. So what is the hold up?

Just before Steve’s death, he claimed to have cracked the secret to HDTVs. Speculation has led to Siri being the foundation behind this revelation. Could Apple develop a technology that allows us to control our television set via our voice? It is certainly possible.

It will be an exciting year ahead as more information is certain to uproot about the development of an Apple TV set. We will have to see if Apple can justify having to battle for proper placement in the big box stores and judge the overhead cost to getting into an entirely different market.
