New AppleTV Coming Soon

Amazon recently discounted the price of Apple’s ‘hobby’ AppleTV by $10, signifying a looming update to the HDTV accessory.

What is more interesting, however is the fact that Amazon also has labeled the current Apple TV product as “(2010)” in the product title – a typical move when denoting an older generation of a product.

BestBuy also followed suit, dropping the price to $89 on their site (after the product is added to the cart). These price drops hold water considering Amazon has never advertised a price-point on the AppleTV below $95 dollars.

No updates for the Apple TV were mentioned during Apple’s recent presentations, suggesting that the company was passing on making any adjustments by the end of the year. This move by both Amazon and BestBuy, however, may mean that we might see a new device before the flux of holiday shopping begins.
