Facebook Tracks You, and you, and you

Recently, Facebook has been trying to reach a settlement with the FTC regarding the privacy issues claimed by many users.

But, surprisingly less quiet is the fact that Facebook is tracking users and non-users alike as they travel the web.

Facebook officials are now admitting that they have been able to create a log of the web pages that each of its over 800 million members have visited during the last 90 days. Facebook also keeps track of where millions more non-members go on the Web, after they visit any page attached to the facebook.com domain.

To make this happen, Facebook uses tracking cookies that relay usage information back to Facebook’s servers. These are similar to the ones that Google and Microsoft all use to collect usage and search data from their users.
