LinkedIn Re-Launches CardMunch

Earlier this year CardMunch – an iPhone app that lets you capture business card data and store it to your contacts – was acquired by LinkedIn. Just today, LinkedIn is re-releasing this app integrating the functions of the original app with the capabilities of the social network behind it.

Millions of business cards have been digitized on CardMunch to date.

In the new version of CardMunch, LinkedIn has combined its wealth of data and overhauled the entire experience to present users with more value.

Previous versions of the app only showed you the information taken from the business card you scanned. With this version, Linkedin has allowed profile data on their network to be integrated with the scanned cards. CardMunch will automatically map that information with the contact’s LinkedIn profile, along with other information such as photos.
