New Netflix app for Nook and Fire, not for iPad

Recently, Amazon announced the “Lending Library” for Kindle devices. Hulu also said that it will have the Hulu Plus app ready to go for both the Kindle Fire and the Nook.

And today, trying to keep up with both Hulu and Amazon, Netflix announced that they will be releasing a redesigned app for both the Nook and the Fire.

But not for the iPad. That version will arrive “in the coming weeks,” the company said.

Official spokesman Steve Swasey commented that the Android release was timed to coincide with the Fire and the Nook. “It’s nothing more than a timing issue,” he said. “Netflix is agnostic on platforms -– no preferences or priorities,” he continued.

Either way, this means that iPad owners will have to be ok with waiting a little longer for the iOS version of the redesigned app.
